Pros

  • good sound quality
  • music comes with video clips
  • huge selection of music

Cons

  • slightly complicated interface
  • does not have radio stations
  • no hotkey support

Beginning with software like Pandora and Spotify, the online music player revolution was born and the rise of competing company's results raged on. Now there are a myriad of options for users to choose from, each offering a slightly different interface boasting different benefits.

Muziic is one of the latest developments within this revolution. It allows users passage to an endless supply of music, legally and freely. Muziic has a huge database that includes every prominent genre of music from the past century. Users can add unlimited amounts of their favorite music to a personal account. There users can categorize, organize, and listen to their tunes.

One unique bonus of Muziic compared to similar programs is that with Muziic, users can also play the music video to a song, right on Muziic's site.

Though the interface to this program is eye-catching, it is not exactly what we'd call streamlined. There is a significant number of omitted options that we appreciate and miss from similar programs. For instance, users cannot browse music by searching for a certain genre. Muziic's option is the ability to search for a song or artist directly or to search the channels and playlists that various users on the site have created. Unfortunately, Muziic has completely done away with radio stations. This is a shame as many sites run entirely off radio stations, and it seems like an essential element in a music software these days.

Although Muziic does run directly from the desktop of the user, it also required the use of an internet connection to download music to the offline interface. Though this can sometimes be annoying, particularly if your device relies on wi-fi for a connection, it generally is not too invasive and tends to run smoothly.

We have no real complaints concerning the way that Muziic runs. Despite the slightly confusing interface that we mentioned earlier, Muziic works smoothly. There are no obvious ticks in the system. Additionally, it has a quick response time and the ability to customize certain personal features.

Unfortunately, Muziic lacks a simple and effective way for users to search within playlists and favorites. It also does not support the use of hoteys and therefore cannot be used in conjunction with other applications.

Overall, while we like the sleek look of Muziic and it does provide a huge music library, Muziic also comes with an array of flaws. We wish they would have included a radio station option, allowed the use of hotkeys, and provided a slightly more visceral interface to enhance its use.
